At the spot where during the Battle of Arnhem, according to historians, the odds turned against the British troops, a memorial service is held each year. During this service schoolchildren of the nearby Montessori College read poems, eye whitnesses tell their stories and wreaths are laid. Citizens lay flowers and the Last Post is played. Before the service a Battle Guide takes interested people through the streets nearby, as well as to the house where Maj. Gen Roy Urquhart hid on the loft.
